The MultiphaseGTR project aims to develop a bioactive multiphase hydrogel-based membrane for periodontal regeneration. It focuses on creating and characterizing two types of hydrogel membranes and assessing their effectiveness in promoting tissue healing in dental applications.
Periodontitis is one of the world's most prevalent chronic dental and maxillofacial diseases that will ultimately lead to unwanted tooth loss.
This disease was responsible for a significant loss of 158.64 billion in Europe in 2018.
Due to the complexity of the grafting treatment techniques, the efficiency of these procedures is notably affected. A bioactive multiphasic membrane/scaffold with different layers has been advised for this.
