This project introduces a new method for producing substrates used in mushroom and biogas production, enhancing energy efficiency and nutrient recovery. By creating a circular system, it aims to lower production costs and improve the sustainability of both industries.
ProblemGrowing certain biological foods requires a substrate such as straw, wood, chicken litter, horse manure and poultry litter for organisms to grow.
Producing substrate today has low energy efficiency, has as a consequence that nutrients are lost, and is labour intensive.
