The MORPHIC project focuses on advancing forensic entomology by utilizing micro-computed tomography to analyze the metamorphosis of blowflies. This research aims to develop reliable methods for aging insect pupae, enhancing death time estimations in forensic investigations.
Forensic entomology is today an increasingly robust science which has its main application in the estimation of the minimum postmortem interval based on the age of necrophagous insects (mainly blowflies) collected from cadavers.
