This project focuses on enhancing earthquake forecasting by developing new methods to monitor fault behavior using seismic and geodetic data. By applying machine learning techniques, it aims to uncover unknown processes that lead to earthquakes, improving our understanding of their physics.
The last seismic sequence in Italy, responsible for 298 fatalities and important economic loss, remind us how urgent it is to improve our knowledge about earthquake physics to advance earthquake forecasting.
