This project examines the economic role of Coptic monasteries in Egypt during the Late Antique and Early Islamic periods, focusing on evidence from the monastery of Apa Thomas and Coptic texts. It aims to provide a new perspective on the economic landscape by analyzing previously overlooked sources.
