The MODIFY project focuses on understanding the mechanical properties of soft nanostructured adhesives, particularly at internal and hard/soft interfaces. It aims to develop advanced modeling techniques to improve adhesive performance for various applications, enhancing their design and recyclability.
In soft nanostructured materials containing polymers (such as acrylic adhesives), interfaces pose specific challenges since they are usually diffuse and can transfer stress through chain entanglements.
The equilibrium structure of soft polymer interfaces is well-known, but their mechanical strength remains poorly understood.
