The MODAP project focuses on analyzing mobility data generated by GPS-enabled devices to understand people's movement behaviors while addressing privacy concerns. It aims to integrate privacy technology into mobility data mining, fostering interdisciplinary research in data mining, geography, and visualization.
With the advance and wide usage of GPS enabled devices and other positioning systems, mobility behaviour of individuals can now be captured and streamed into a data warehouse for online or historical data analysis.
We refer to such data as mobility data.
Mobility data mining comes into picture as an emerging field which aims to extract knowledge from mobility data with a lot of opportunities as well as risks.
