This project investigates the role of regulatory T cells in liver diseases such as hepatitis B and liver cancer. It aims to identify mechanisms for targeting these cells to improve treatment strategies and enhance our understanding of liver homeostasis.
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are important for maintaining tolerance to self and are known to contribute to appropriate priming in the case of foreign challenges, however, their role in liver homeostasis and disease remains to be determined.
