This multidisciplinary project investigates the role of microorganisms in the safety of geological repositories for radioactive waste. It aims to enhance understanding of microbial processes and their impact on waste management and repository integrity.
The multidisciplinary project will address key technical issues that must be tackled to support the implementation of planned geological disposal projects for higher-level radioactive wastes across the EU.
