The MIMYCS project aims to develop a simulation model to understand the complex interactions affecting mycotoxin contamination in maize. By linking environmental factors and agricultural practices, the model will assist in policymaking and help farmers manage mycotoxin risks effectively.
Maize is one of the main crops grown for human food and livestock feed, using more than 8.5 million ha of cropland annually in Europe.
The crop is heavily affected by mycotoxin problems throughout the world.
