This project aims to develop a new technique for observing and controlling ultrafast processes at the nanoscale using mid-infrared pulses combined with advanced microscopy. It targets applications in materials science and biology, enabling detailed studies of chemical reactions and molecular dynamics.
The goal of this proposal is to allow observing and controlling ultrafast phenomena in a spatio-temporal window of 20fs-15nm at mid-IR by merging the extreme temporal resolution of the recently developed single-cycle mid-IR pulses with the spatial resolution of near field scattering optical microscope (aSNOM).
