The MICROINVADER project aims to explore how the human gut microbiota influences the invasion and evolution of the bacterium Escherichia coli. Using an in vitro gut simulator, the project seeks to uncover the molecular mechanisms that enable bacterial colonization in diverse gut environments.
The human gut microbiota plays a critical role in safeguarding human health by defending against pathogens and supporting essential metabolic and immune functions.
