This project investigates the development of controlled-release fertilizers using Layered Double Hydroxides to enhance micronutrient availability for crops. The goal is to create fertilizers that release nutrients in response to plant needs, improving crop yield and nutritional quality under various soil conditions.
In many important agricultural crops successful fertilisation with micronutrients can lead to substantial increases in diseases resistance, marketable yield, and improved nutritional quality of food and feed.
