MicroCokit aims to improve water quality monitoring by developing advanced bioindicators that can quickly and accurately detect microbial communities and pathogens. The project collaborates with academic and private partners to create tools that enhance water safety and management.
Microbial communities are microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae) at the base of the food web pyramid, representing about 50 % of the total biomass on Earth.
