This project aims to develop advanced materials for controlling flow-induced vibrations in engineering systems. By integrating mechanical metamaterials with nonlinear energy sinks, it seeks to enhance vibration attenuation and energy harvesting capabilities.
Flow-induced vibration can occur in many engineering systems and structures such as bridges, transmission lines, aircraft control surfaces, offshore structures, marine cables, and other hydrodynamic applications.
