This project investigates the molecular mechanisms of ageing, focusing on metabolic and genetic regulators that affect protein quality control. By exploring the hexosamine pathway in model organisms, it aims to uncover ways to enhance cellular homeostasis and potentially slow down the ageing process.
Ageing is a complex physiological process that affects almost all species, including humans.
Despite its importance for all of us, the biology of ageing is insufficiently understood.
