This project aims to find new treatment options for melanoma by targeting specific metabolic enzymes associated with common mutations. It focuses on understanding the distinct behaviors of melanoma driven by different mutations to develop effective therapies.
Melanoma is the most lethal form of skin cancer.
Therapeutic alternatives to metastatic melanoma are very limited.
Activation of RAS pathway appears to be the central motor driving melanoma development and maintenance, where BRAFV600E and NRASQ61L are found in ~ 50% and 20% of human melanomas, respectively.
