This project develops non-invasive techniques for monitoring heart health in stroke patients using ballistocardiogram signals. The goal is to create a portable device that can detect cardiac conditions and sleep apnea, allowing for remote patient monitoring without the need for clinical visits.
Clinical monitoring of the heart health of stroke patients is usually done by electrocardiogram (ECG) recording, a non-invasive method that requires electrodes in contact with the patient's skin to obtain the signal.
However, since specialists are required to place the electrodes, its use is restrictive.
