MemMod investigates how personal memory shapes literary history, focusing on the life and influence of James Joyce. By analyzing memoirs and biographical accounts, the project aims to understand the role of collective memory in modernist literature through archival research and the publication of Joyce's diary.
The degree to which experimental writers of the early twentieth century drew on their own life stories for creative expression is a commonplace of both the critical and popular receptions of modernism.
