Mem4BIOCH4 focuses on developing low-cost membrane technology for upgrading biogas by efficiently removing pollutants like carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. This project aims to enhance the production of high-quality biomethane from organic waste and wastewater, contributing to renewable energy solutions.
Biogas from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste and wastewater is regarded as one of the most promising renewable energy vectors to partially address the current global environmental and energy challenges.
However, CO2 and H2S, along with other biogas pollutants, need to be removed to enlarge the scope of biogas applications.
