This project investigates how mechanical forces influence the enzymatic processes of proteolysis at the single molecule level. By employing advanced techniques like force-clamp spectroscopy, it aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms that dictate enzyme-substrate interactions under varying mechanical conditions.
Single-molecule enzymology offers new possibilities to dissect catalytic reactions that were previously unapproachable using biochemistry techniques conducted in the bulk.
