This project aims to develop new therapeutic strategies for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma by targeting the tumor microenvironment and its resident cells. It focuses on modulating specific cellular pathways to inhibit fibrosis and improve drug delivery using innovative compounds and hydrogels.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the most common type of pancreatic cancer, is the fourth-leading cause of cancer related mortality and is predicted to be the second leading cause of cancer death by 2030.
