The project aims to improve the assessment of osteosarcopenia by developing advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging techniques. It focuses on creating rapid MRI sequences to measure bone and muscle quality in postmenopausal women, addressing a significant health issue.
Osteosarcopenia (OSP) is a recently recognized pathology of aging defined as the co-occurrence of osteopenia/osteoporosis (OP) andsarcopenia (SP) leading to high morbidity, disability, and mortality with an associated tremendous economic burden.
There are noapproved therapies specifically targeting OSP.
