This project explores the mechanisms of memory in the zebrafish brain, focusing on how neuronal connectivity changes with learning. By analyzing odor discrimination and using advanced imaging techniques, it aims to reveal the relationship between brain structure and function in memory formation.
The brain accumulates knowledge by experience-driven modifications of neuronal connectivity and creates models of the world that enable intelligent behavior.
It is thought that these processes are based on autoassociative mechanisms of circuit plasticity.
