This project aims to innovate downstream processing techniques in fine chemical production by developing selective interfaces using biomolecules and ionic liquids. The goal is to enhance purification processes, particularly for nutritional and therapeutic products, by creating modular and tunable separation systems.
In the production of fine chemicals the downstream processing may amount up to 75 % of the total manufacturing costs, particularly when the product is aimed at nutritional or therapeutic use which demands a maximum purity.
