This project explores the formation of signaling microdomains in cell membranes, focusing on how protein-lipid clusters contribute to cell functions such as polarity and communication. Mathematical models will be employed to understand the dynamics of these clusters.
Assembly of transient and stable signaling platforms in the plasma membrane of cells has been implicated in functions as varied as death and survival, polarity, differentiation, migration, cell-cell communication, virus entry, exocytosis, endocytosis.
