This project aims to enhance marine biodiversity protection by analyzing the role of data in science-policy interactions. It seeks to develop methodologies for understanding how marine biodiversity data is utilized and shared among countries, addressing inequalities in data infrastructure and governance.
In order to protect marine biodiversity and ensure that benefits are equally shared, the UN General Assembly has decided to develop a new legally binding treaty under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
