This project investigates proton-rich nuclei near the N=Z line, focusing on neutron-proton interactions and decay modes. It aims to develop experimental tools for studying these nuclei, contributing to both fundamental physics and astrophysics.
Proton rich nuclei with N≈Z and masses close to A=100 are excellent for the investication of neutron-proton interactions and neutron-proton pairing and may provide insight to some of the most interesting and exciting topics in nuclear physics.
Heavy N≈Z nuclei are also of astrophysical interest mainly in the study of the rapid proton capture (rp) process.
