The MAP project investigates the investment behaviors of energy firms to understand their impact on climate policies and decarbonization efforts. By analyzing ownership structures and investment patterns, the project aims to identify effective policy mixes for achieving rapid energy sector decarbonization.
The urgent need for rapid decarbonization of the global energy sector to meet Paris Agreement goals requires more robust policies based on a deep understanding of the sector’s key economic actors, investment decisions and incentives, and influence on policymaking.
