This project aims to understand and control defect formation in lightweight aluminum and magnesium sheet metal during manufacturing processes. It utilizes advanced imaging techniques to study defects in real-time, enhancing the quality of components in automotive and aerospace applications.
In recent years, the demand for sheet metal parts of lightweight aluminum and magnesium alloys have considerably increased in the automobile, aviation and mobile electronics sectors.
