This project investigates axon regeneration mechanisms after spinal cord injury using magnetic nanoparticles to apply mechanical tension on growth cones. The goal is to understand how these physical cues influence axon growth, potentially leading to new therapies for spinal cord injuries.
The lack of axon regeneration following spinal cord injury (SCI) diminishes patients’ quality of life and poses a significant economic burden on the society.
