The M-TRAIT project aims to enhance large-scale forest models by integrating ecological findings on tree traits that influence drought responses. It will simulate forest reactions to climate change scenarios over a century, focusing on how these changes affect ecosystem services.
The changes in precipitation patterns that are projected for the coming decades are expected to increase the frequency and intensity of droughts.
