m-RESIST focuses on developing a mobile health intervention for patients with resistant schizophrenia, promoting self-management and active participation in treatment. The program aims to enhance patient engagement and improve treatment outcomes through personalized support.
In European Union approximately 5 million people suffer from psychotic disorders.
Between 30-50% can be considered resistant to treatment, and 10-20% ultra-resistant.
These patients present persistent positive symptomatology, require extensive periods of hospital care, and have a greater risk of excess mortality and multi-morbidity.
