This project investigates how language policies affect grassroots language use in Quebec, Canada, compared to Singapore and Wales. It focuses on collecting data on public language practices and attitudes, aiming to provide insights into the impact of these policies on local communities.
This application is for a year's worth of fieldwork in Montreal, Canada.
The project is part of the applicant’s larger post-doctoral research, which investigates the interaction between official language policies and their impact on language use at the grassroots in three political entities:
Singapore, Wales, and Quebec.
