This project focuses on developing a new type of high-temperature fuel cell electrode that significantly reduces platinum usage while maintaining performance. The innovative design aims to enhance the commercialization potential of fuel cells for clean energy applications.
In spite of the promising prospects as future green energy conversion device, low temperature-proton exchange membrane fuel cells (LT-PEMFCs) based in perfluorosulfonic acid membrane have achieved a penetration in the energy market rather low, being cost and durability the main barriers to the worldwide commercialization.
