This project investigates the liver's complex cellular organization and functionality by analyzing single hepatocytes within their natural environment. It aims to understand how spatial zonation and cell characteristics, such as polyploidy, contribute to liver performance and metabolic regulation.
The mammalian liver performs critical functions for maintaining metabolic homeostasis.

The liver achieves this diversity through the collective behaviour of heterogeneous hepatocytes operating in highly structured microenvironments.
