The LIVERHOPE project investigates a new treatment for liver cirrhosis using a combination of rifaximin and simvastatin. This approach targets disease progression and aims to improve patient quality of life and survival rates through clinical trials in multiple European countries.
Liver cirrhosis is a very common chronic disease and one of the leading causes of death in European.
Moreover, cirrhosis has a marked impact in patients quality of life and represents a major burden for health systems.
