This project seeks to develop a new therapy for colorectal cancer by targeting a specific long non-coding RNA involved in drug resistance. The approach aims to enhance treatment efficacy by combining RNA inhibitors with traditional therapies to overcome resistance mechanisms.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related death globally.
Despite the therapeutic advances, innate and acquired resistance is still an adversity that needs to be overcome.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify more targeted and specific therapeutic approaches in order to increase success of the treatment and reduce the medical and economic burden of therapeutic failures.
