The LINCARE project investigates how language contact phenomena in migrant communities can indicate their psychological well-being. By analyzing bilingual practices and their cultural impacts, it aims to provide insights into the acculturation process faced by immigrants in new social contexts.
The critical challenges posed by the growing migratory movements, in terms of linguistic and cultural collisions, raise the need to deeper understand the acculturation processes faced by groups of migrants while settling in a new social and cultural context.
These may encompass certain levels of acculturative stress, which have an impact on migrants psychological well-being and are reflected, among other things, in the linguistic outcomes of migration.
