This project investigates anomalous diffusion and relaxation processes in complex systems using fractional calculus. It aims to develop new equations and algorithms to model phenomena in various fields, including environmental science and biology, enhancing understanding of memory effects in these systems.
The aim of the Project is a combined theoretical, numerical and empirical investigation of anomalous diffusion and relaxation processes which are intrinsic to a broad range of phenomena in complex non-equilibrium systems (in areas of physics, chemistry, environmental and geosciences).
An adequate statistical description of these phenomena requires non - Gaussian Lévy statistics and the use of fractional calculus, namely both integrals and derivatives of fractional order.
