This project investigates the impact of paternity leave on gender norms and children's attitudes toward gender roles. It aims to understand whether fathers' use of paternity leave influences their children's life choices and perspectives on gender equality.
Recent evaluations show that paternity leave reforms have successfully increased fathers’ involvement in childcare and have contributed to a shift in gender norms.
But whether this shift in gender norms can be passed on to the next generation and affect children’s real-life decisions remains to be seen.
