The KinGrad-OCM project investigates the direct conversion of methane into ethylene using Oxidative Coupling of Methane. It focuses on developing advanced catalysts and a new methodology for analyzing reaction kinetics in various reactor types to improve the feasibility of this chemical process.
Abundant availability of methane makes this compound being a potential substitute to crude oil for ethylene production if such chemical conversion is feasible.
