The KINDReD project aims to develop new treatments for diseases caused by trypanosomatid parasites, such as leishmaniasis and Chagas disease. It focuses on high-throughput screening of compounds to identify effective drug candidates while ensuring safety and efficacy.
The trypanosomatid diseases, leishmaniasis, Human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) and Chagas disease (CD), continue to impart a heavy toll on human health.
The treatments available are limited and threatened by drug resistance with few newdrugs in the pipeline.
