This project aims to create a digital edition of the Karaim Bible, utilizing unedited Hebrew texts. It will provide linguistic and palaeographic insights into the Karaim language and culture, while also producing a comprehensive translation for modern speakers.
Eastern European Karaims are the sole representatives of Karaite Judaism in Europe.
Their native tongue is a severely endangered Turkic vernacular listed on the UNESCO Atlas of the Worlds’ Languages in Danger.
