JPcofuND 2 aims to enhance research on neurodegenerative diseases through coordinated efforts across multiple countries. The project focuses on personalized medicine to improve diagnosis and care for patients suffering from these conditions.
Worldwide, nearly 47 million people are currently estimated to be living with dementia, and the number is expected to almost double every 20 years, yet treatments that prevent or stop the progression of neurodegeneration are still lacking.
Tackling this grand challenge requires enhanced coordination of national efforts to accelerate discovery.
