This project focuses on creating a reliable source of single photons for quantum information processing using a silicon photonic chip. The goal is to enable advancements in quantum technologies, including quantum computing and cryptography, by overcoming current limitations in photon generation.
The breakthrough field of quantum information science seeks to manipulate and control quantum mechanical phenomena to enable us to realise revolutionary technologies such as ultraprecise measurement, and quantum computing and simulation.
