The project develops an innovative subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ISSD™) designed to prevent sudden cardiac arrest. This device eliminates the need for leads within the heart, enhancing patient comfort and reducing complications while being wireless and rechargeable.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a life-threating heart condition and one of the most common causes of death in developed countries claiming more than 350,000 lives per year in Europe2.
