This project examines how ocean acidification affects iron uptake in marine phytoplankton, which are crucial for marine ecosystems and climate regulation. By studying various phytoplankton strains, the research aims to understand the implications of acidification on their growth and biogeochemical cycles.
The ability of phytoplankton to access the micronutrient iron fuels vast marine ecosystems, drives biogeochemical cycles and influences climate on a planetary scale.
