This project aims to uncover the genetic factors contributing to insulin resistance and diabetes using a rat model. It integrates genomic and metabolic analyses to identify biomarkers associated with these conditions, providing insights for therapeutic targets and disease prevention.
The objectives of this proposal are to establish causal relationships between altered gene expression regulation and diabetes metabolic changes in a rat model of spontaneous insulin resistance, the Goto-Kakizaki (GK) strain, and define disease-associated biomarkers.
