The INTUIT project aims to develop advanced imaging and sensing technologies for surgical applications, specifically to differentiate between healthy and necrotic tissues during tumor removal. This innovation seeks to enhance surgical precision and minimize damage to surrounding tissues.
INTUIT project aims to pioneer the development of photonic-based spectroscopy and thermometry methods, namely Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and optical sensing with Fibre Bragg Gratings (FBG), into clinical solutions to visualize and differentiate tissue experiencing coagulative necrosis and/or hyperthermia from normal healthy tissue during tumor removal involving thermal ablation.
